Grandma & Grandpa Loves You!!!

Brody turned one yesterday! Boy that year just flew by. I haven’t seen him for a week or so but I’m told he’s starting to walk. It’s suppose to be a surprise though when we do see him, Josh and Devan didn’t want us to know until we see him on Saturday for his party. I guess they are planning to work really hard with him and try to get him better at walking before we get there lol. We have to act really surprised like we never had a clue so I’ve been practicing lol. Today is my wonderful daughter-in-law Debi and her sister, Terry’s wonderful daughter-in-law Sandy’s birthday’s too so Happy Birthday Debi & Sandy! Love you bunches too!

I’m really looking forward to his party on Saturday. The whole family has been invited which includes all of my sister’s and their families as well. We always have a big party for their first birthday’s but after that they keep it small and just immediate family is invited. So it promises to be a fun filled day. Most of us are even going to spend the night and camp out there in their yard. The kids are planning to spend the night and are bringing tents, Games like egg toss and other fun things like water balloons and who knows what else to have fun with are in the works too. Of course there will be a campfire for marshmallows, hot dogs and smore’s of course! I’m thinking there is going to be some pretty good photo ops that day lol.

Guess what! I’m finally getting out of town. Just for the day though and possibly overnight, we don’t know yet for sure about that. Our youngest son’s girlfriends son is getting married up north on Friday night so we are going up for that. I’m looking forward to that too as it will be nice to meet the rest of her family! The wedding is at five with reception following so since it’s so late in the day we might decide to spend the night instead of driving home so late. If we do we’ll have to get up bright and early to be home in time for Brody’s party. I can’t miss that that’s for darn sure.

Sorry I’ve been such a slacker lately on here. I have been spending a lot of time on facebook where all of my family are now and you know I have to make sure they are all behaving themselves hehe. They have the cutest games on there that I enjoy playing to which takes up a lot of my time lol. You can farm if you want or you can decorate homes and apartments, own a zoo and much more lol. It is fun though. I won’t ever give up my spaces though or any of you. You all are my cyber family so I could never stop blogging. William is here to so that’s a lot of why I haven't’ been on much either. I usually let him get on when he wakes up.

I have to babysit tonight. No, not any of the grandchildren. I will be babysitting my grand-dog lol. Jesse and Debi are taking the kids to Six Flags and they don't want to leave Buster home alone all that time. He's still a puppy and likes to chew so they are afraid that when they got home the cushions on ther couch would be in shreds. They don't like the idea of keeping him in the kennel they have at home that long either so it's over the river and through the woods to grandma's house he goes. I'll have pics to show you tomorrow lol. 

Terry and I went shopping the other day and I hit the jackpot. At least I think I did. I found and outfit to wear to a wedding next weekend and to Bill's class reunion in September. The outfit is a top and skirt, (sold seperately of course) but I didn't stop there. I bought Bill some new pants and two shirts, I bought Brody to adorable outfits for his birthday, a picture frame for a wedding gift and another unmentionable. This store is a very nice department store but they have terrific sales. Everything I bought would have come to $301.00 but after all the discounts it came to $156.00. Good deal eh!  I thought it was senior discount day there but it wasn't darn it. If it had been I would have gotten another 10% off the total. Oh well, maybe next time. I hate shopping for clothes for myself so I was happy I found something that I like right away.

It's time I got busy around here. This place really needs a good cleaning and I've put it off long enough. When I take a break I'll be around to visit more of you that I haven't gotten to yet. Until then have a great day and a super weekend. Go out and do something fun!!!

How the days of the week and the months of the year got their names? I got to thinking about that last night. I was just sitting there watching TV when a commercial came on about a show I watch and wanted to remember what day and time it was going to show. Funny thing is that was almost the first thing that popped into my mind this morning so I had to look it up so it would stop bothering me lol. I’m sure I probably was taught this way back in school but if I was I don’t remember. So for other inquiring minds this is what I found.

The days of the week were named after Norse gods and giant objects in the sky.

These names come to us originally from the Greeks and Romans, who named the days of the week after their gods.

The Anglo-Saxons, who invaded Britain hundreds of years ago, adopted this idea but substituted their own gods. The English language has inherited and changed those names a bit, but the ones we use today resemble those names.

Sunday comes from Sun's day.

Monday comes from Moon's day.

Tuesday comes from Tiwes' day (God of war).

Wednesday comes from Woden's day (Anglo-Saxon King of the Gods).

Thursday comes from Thor's day (God of Thunder).

Friday comes from Freya's day (Goddess of love and fruitfulness) or Frig's day (wife of Odin).

Saturday comes from Saturn's day.

JANUARY
Named after the Roman god Janus, the god of beginnings and endings.

I just got home from seeing my cousin who’s back in the hospital again. This is probably the 4o or 5th time she’s been in since they found out what she has. usually hepatitis B runs it’s course in about 4 to 6 weeks but she’s just not getting any better. We thought she was getting better a week or so ago but it took another turn for the worse again. I have never in my life seen anyone so yellow before. The whites of her eyes are the color of mustard I kid you not. I’m really worried about her. Now they are starting to consider a liver transplant and I’m beginning to think that’s what it’s going to take to make her well again. Her husband just had a liver biopsy himself last Thursday or Friday but we haven’t gotten the results of that yet. He doesn’t feel good either and I feel so bad for them. I wish there was something I could do other then pray but there isn’t anything anyone can do except the doctors and God.  Please keep her and Jimmy in your prayers. I told them you are all praying for them and they appreciate it so very very much and wanted me to thank you.

We have a lot of parties coming up over the next few weeks. Terry’s granddaughter’s is this Saturday then the next weekend we have a wedding to go to up north. The day after that is Brody’s 1st birthday party. The week after that we have Bill’s family reunion to go to so it’s going to be a busy time for awhile. I don’t know how I can handle all these parties. You all know how  much I hate to party LOL. But being the trooper that I am I’ll do my best so as not to disappoint anyone.

William has been here for a couple weeks now but he says he thinks he’ll go back  home today. I sure have fun with him when he’s here. We are always joking around with each other and playing tricks. He usually gets the best of me but I sure try hard. I think I might have the girls spend the night soon then I’ll have the boys again. Oh, I just thought. I have to get to the bank to get Brody’s savings bond. I doubt he’d spend the night when the other 3 do though. Thee will come a time when he does though I’m sure.

It sure is a pretty day here today. It’s been kind of chilly but I didn’t mind that so much as long as it wasn't raining. I couldn’t believe Bill the other day. He said he was cold and went and put some long johns on again. I about died when he did that. He drives me nuts sometimes. He’s cold so he goes and closes all the windows then I start sweating to death so I go and open them back up. We go back and forth like that lol. It reminds me of my mom and dad. Mom would tell dad it’s easier to put more clothes on and you can only take so much off so go put a sweater or something on. We are turning into my mom and dad…oye as Toodie would say lol.

Don’t ya just love that sweet face. I was babysitting while Josh had his guitar lesson.  I just found out that Devan is taking piano lessons now too and last night was when they go. . William also takes guitar lessons so I was thinking last night that all we need now is have Eric take drum lessons and Brianna vocal lessons and we’ll have our own band lol. Eric does take karate and Brianna is in dance so we could put on some kind of production. Now all we have to do is wait for Brody to get big enough to perform. Of course he could just stand there and be cute huh. I can’t get over what a good baby he is. He’s pulling himself up and walking around furniture now so it won’t be long before he’s walking on his own. Can you believe he’s going to be a year old on the 27th? I need to get to the bank to get his savings bond pretty quick, can’t forget to do that.

I went up for thirst Thursday last night after Jon picked Brody up. A couple of friends came in together and boy were they funny! I had so many laughs with them and the others who were there. Terry wasn’t there as I guess they are camping. You’ll never guess where they are camping though. They are camping with Darla and Jim in Terry’s yard lol. I guess the tried to find a campground but Jodi told me they said they couldn’t find one with any vacancy for this week. People must be out and enjoying their summer if all the campgrounds are full. I’ll have to go over there to check on them and make sure a big ole bear hasn’t gotten them lol.

Charter must have fixed things right, I haven’t gotten knocked of the internet since they left, woo hoo! I still haven’t been able to be on much though because William is here again. I get on before he wakes up or if he’s playing a game on his Wii. He’s been told not to download anything though, I don’t want to have to have my computer fixed again. Theirs  is doing the same thing mine was before I got it fixed so it had to be something he downloaded on both our computers. That’s what i think anyway.

Bill came in the house yesterday and said to come out and see this. I went out and he said to look on top of the house. I look up and there’s a duck sitting on top of the roof. In all my life I have never seen a duck land on top of a house and it sure was a strange sight to see. Of course I had to run back in to get my camera to show you. I’m sure it must have happened before but I’ve never seen a duck do that before.

That’s the strangest thing I’ve seen in a long long time. He walked over to the edge of the roof and looked down like he was confused. Then he flew down and started eating bird seed that get’s spilled on the ground. Every year we have ducks come to eat the seeds but they usually just fly in lol. When there are momma’s and babies they will walk up the street from the river and walk right down the driveway to the back yard and eat. It’s so cute to see. I’m glad the geese doesn’t come up though, they are too messy.

I called Charter yesterday and told them I want a discount on my bill. I didn’t get one argument from them and when she came back after checking to see how long it was out she told me that $14.77 will be deducted from next months bill. That will be half off as our bill is $30.00 a month. When I figured out how many days I had issues it really was over 2 weeks so that’s about right.

Do any of you watch Big Brother? There are a couple guys in there I hope goes home soon. They are like high school bullies and they need to be taught a lesson. One especially, he’s mean, rude and no class what-so-ever! He reminds me of another guy who was on the show years ago whose name was Eric. This guy was so prejudice and boy was he surprised when he got voted out and found out what America thought of him lol. I think the same thing might happen to these two guys too.

Well I think and hope I’m back in business. Charter was here yesterday and found where the squirrels chewed some of the wires. When he showed up I told him I’d been waiting over 2 weeks for him to get here and says ya right. I think he thought that I was mad because he wasn’t here in the morning. He showed up around 4:00. I told him I was serious as a heart beat and then explained to him what’s been going on. He said it didn’t surprise him much and that it shouldn’t have taken so long. So today I’m going to call billing and demand a discounted bill. After all , it wasn’t my fault they took so darn long to get here and fix it.

Again, thank you for all your prayers for my cousin and her husband. She’s home from the hospital only because there isn’t much they can do for her there. She’s just taking meds and she can take those at home. She still has a long way to go though. I talked to Jimmy last night and he said he’s just bushed. He also said his numbers were on the rise too so that’s not good either. If any two people in the world deserves a break it’s them. So if you would please keep them in your prayers. I told them that you all are praying for them and they wanted me to Thank you all from the bottom of their hearts and to let you know that they appreciate it more then you can imagine.

I got some cleaning accomplished that I’d been putting off while my puter was out so I guess good things come out of bad things sometimes right lol. I also finished a couple books and started another one. Beth told me about a book she’s reading so I might go to the library and look for it. It’s called The Shack and she said it really makes you t hink and tells you how not to worry about things you can’t control. I need to learn how to do that.

My internet decided to work this morning for awhile. It went out Friday night and was out until this morning and is out again right how while I’m typing this on live writer.  I wanted to update you all on my cousin and to thank everyone for their prayers for Mary, they are working. I talked to her yesterday & her numbers dropped from over 2 million down to half a million and she is feeling a bit better. The numbers are suppose to be between 20 and 40 I think he said so she's not out of the woods by any means but it's going in the right direction. So please keep them coming. Thank you again and love and hugs to all of you!!!

Please put my cousin Mary on your prayer list!!! She has hepatitis B. She's had it for 6 weeks now and has spent most of that time in the hospital. She was just put back in the hospital yesterday in the University of Madison. She just called me and asked me to pray for her and to ask everyone I know to pray for her too. Her doctors came in this morning and told her it's not good. A nurse came in just then so she couldn't talk any longer so I don't know just what the doctors said but she told me to call her husband when he gets home from Zion Ill.
This couple has had it so bad for the last few years. Jimmy her husband has leukemia and has been going to the Cancer treatment center of America down in Zion for his Chemo. His leukemia is in remission right now and then this happens.
It turns out that he had hepatitis B when he was 17 and it laid dormant all these years. They siad his chemo activated the hepititis again which then unknowingly gave it to Mary. She is so full of the virus that they can't seem to get it under control. She's only 59 and is just like a sister to me so I am pleading for all of you to pray for her. Thank you all in advance from the bottom of my heart!!!

I was just about to say my internet is back then I looked down and it was off again so I waited. It came on then went off again. It’s back right now so I’m taking a chance since it is doing better today then it has been. So far at least. I bet I have called them at least 10 times and each time I swear I was told something different. Two people told me it would be fixed by the end of the day, once on Friday and once again on Monday. They did tell me they had 10 “working” days to fix it so that means it won’t be 10 days until Monday. We’ll see huh. As soon as I know it’s fixed for good I will be calling the billing department and insisting on a discounted bill.They can check and see how many hours and days it didn’t work so there’s no excuses they can give me that will work. I am locked and loaded and ready for a fight if it necessary lol.

So, what have you all be up too? It might be easier for you to come and tell me then for me to try to catch up on the last week or so lol. I did get some cleaning done that I was putting off so sometimes good things come out of bad ones huh. I went shopping for some unmentionables they other day. The ones I have lost their holding power if you know what I mean hehe. While I was there I was looking around and found this really cute wall decoration on sale. It was originally 69.99 on sale for $6.99 so I snatched it right up. It will look nice on my red wall. I’ll take 90% off of something any day.

Ok I finally got my internet working after 4 days of messing around with them. I thought it was fixed one day then they next 2 days it still kept gong on and off. So frustrating I tell ya. Then when I think I can finally get on here William comes to stay with us for a week or so. His dad’s friend from New York is here visiting and those two are staying in Madison while she’s here and William didn’t feel like staying home alone. I think he just didn’t want to cook his own meals lol and besides, their pc isn’t working that great either. Kathy is thinking about moving here from N. Y. so they are checking things out in Madison to see how she likes it. Billy said Madison is a lot like Brooklyn where she lives. It would be great if she decides to move, I really like her. It will be awhile if she does though.

We are having another family party over at Terry’s again today. No surprise there right lol. In fact I should be making my coleslaw right now. I’m not even sure when it starts. Doesn’t matter though. The party really doesn’t start until I GET THERE hehehe. I hope it warms up some though and that the sun comes out, it’s kind of chilly right now.

Well I’m going to try to get around to visit some of you before I go over to Terry’s and before William wakes up. But if I don’t get there I want to wish you all and very Happy and Safe 4th of July.

And it’s still going in and out today. When it first happened I thought it was our modem so we went and bought a new one. When that one didn’t work either I called our provider and sure enough it turns out to be in their system. I using live writer right now as I don’t know how long I will be on from one minute to the next. From what they tell me there are quite a few homes in our area that are also out of commission but they say it should be fixed sometime today.

Boy the weather sure took a turn. Our high today is only going to be in the 50’s or 60’s and it was that way yesterday too. Almost feels like fall. Tomorrow is suppose to start warming up again. It’s good for sleeping but I do prefer temps in the 70’s.

This afternoon I want to go see the movie Public Enemies with Johnny Depp. You know, it’s the one about John Dillenger and part of the movie was filmed right here in Wisconsin. The FBI thought they had Dillenger surrounded at the Little Bohemian resort up in Manitowish Wisconsin where they opened fire on the building. Bill and I were up there a few years ago and the bullet holes are still in it. It’s a restaurant now but they have kept things they way it was back then. It’s kind of interesting. So that’s my plan for today, especially if the internet keeps going on and off. 

Ok, I’m going to try to get this on. At least if it doesn’t work it will save in drafts and I won’t have to write it all over again…I hope. But that’s why I haven’t been around lately in case you were wondering. And why I won’t be around if it keeps up lol. Hope to see you soon.!

Update…

Well, since I first wrote this our internet went out again, then it came back, then it went out lol. It went like that all day and never stayed on long enough for me to get this posted so I gave up and went to see the movie. It’s pretty good. You can sure tell some of it was filmed right here. It sure looks like they filmed at the Little Bohemian because that building looks like the one we were at. I say it’s only pretty good because I’ve seen better but I’m glad I went. Besides, Johnny Depp is worth the money lol. Oh if I were only younger hehehe.
