    What I've been up too.

Not much really. Thursday I went up to visit with my sister's for thirsty Thursday but was home by 8. Then Friday night we all hung out on Jodi's deck until around 11. My cousin brought my aunt down and it was nice visiting with them. My aunt is in a nursing home and her daughter goes to see her everyday and takes her out a lot. I've gone up to see her a few times and she loves it when I do. She's such a neat lady with a wonderful sense of humor. After they took her back her and her hubby came back and hung out with us for most of the night. We always get the giggles when we're all together and I bet the neighbors thought we were nuts lol. Then yesterday I went to a park just a walking distance away to watch the Blue Angels perform. They are actually at the airport but we can see them from here. I think they are amazing to watch and I'd love to ride in one.

Wouldn't that be a blast to ride in one of those. My family all thinks I'm nuts but I think it would be fun and an incredible expierence.
It was a perfect day for it too.
There was a little boy fishing on the pier next to the one I was standing on and he caught something big but darn if it didn't get away. I was hoping he could bring it in but no luck. His dad came running over to help him but it broke loose before he got there. Then there were some kids flying kits and the wind was just perfect for that too. They had them up pretty high. Today is suppose to be a carbon copy of yesterday so I'm going back to the park again today when the Angels start flying again. They just amaze me.
So with that said I better get some things done first and out of the way. I hope your weekend has been as nice as ours has been.
Take care, have fun and laugh out loud.
    Hugs

    My weekend

I think Brody's going to be a mechanic lol.

There's no stopping him now, he's getting all over the place. You know, when he smiles at you it just melts your heart. I had him and Josh here Friday night because Jon and Devan went to the races. It's funny but Devan is more interested in those things more then Josh is. He use to be and could name every driver and their car in Nascar when he was 5 but anymore he could care less. Their interest's change so fast when they're young. Devan is more apt to try more things too and is more daring. My daughter hollered at me because she said Devan takes after me in that respect. I am willing to try just about anything once and so is she lol. I told my daughter I was sorry about that but oh well, as long as she doesn't get hurt.

Do any of you know anything about adobe reader and java? My reader isn't working and neither is java. It says I have them on my puter but when I test them it says they aren't working. I've treid to uninstall them but they won't uninstall either. I hate to take it in to get fixed again if I can figure it out myself. I guess I'll call HP and hope they will help me for free lol. I've gone to their websites and they have info there but I'm always afraid I'll screw things up worse then they are.

William was here over the weekend so I wasn't able to get around to many of you. I have a feeling with his dad being laid off from work that he will be spending a lot of time here over the summer as they only have one computer they have to share lol. I have another computer so I'm thinking about getting a router so both of them can be interenet capable. I do kick him off when I want to use it but it would be easier. He's planning on getting a summer job though so we'll see.

Bill and I both have colds and not feeling the best. His is worse then mine though. He's coughing, sneezing and aches all over where I'm just coughing and sneezing a lot. I hardly ever get sick and can't even remember the last time I had a cold so I'm not liking this one little bit. I don't feel like doing a whole lot and am only doing what needs to be done. It seems like when he gets a cold or something he gets it good. I'm glad I'm not like that as I hate feeling mopey and dopey. (no comment from you Terry lol).  Of course it could just be allergies. I've never had them before but that doesn't mean things can't change does it? Heaven knows there's enough pollen floating around around here.

Well I'm getting hungry so I better go get some breakfast. So Ta Ta for now!

Have a great day ya hear!

    The American Hero

    by Roger Robicheau

The American Hero always comes through
To capture our hearts with a spirit so true

Some proudly are soldiers who march in harm’s way
Insuring our freedom, courageous they stay

While others come forth as civilians so brave
Determined in purpose, so steadfast to save

We should always keep clear a place in our heart
For each has a value beyond precious art

Their duty to country will not be surpassed
Please honor their courage, for some it’s their last

We live in a world which can be hard to bear
Thank God for these people, how greatly they care

Do ponder new heroes and what they will face
And pray for their safety no matter their place

Our heritage brings out the best, we all know
Our great book of heroes is destined to grow

    Hello and Happy Memorial Day!

It's been a pretty quiet weekend around here. The weather's been great though and that's good for those who have plans. William called the other day and wanted to come down so of course I went and got him. He of course takes over the computer so I'm hoping to get around to visit before he wakes up and see all of you. One thing though when he's here, I get a lot more done so that's good eh! Don't have much more to say except...

Get out the donuts and put the coffee on I'm on my way!

    May 22

    Botanical Gardens.

I went back to the rotary club yesterday and walked through their gardens and they are beautiful. So peaceful and relaxing, I could have spent the entire day there if there wasn't so many people there. I couldn't go into the sunken garden because there was a wedding ceremony going on. What a beautiful place to have a wedding I must say, a beautiful day for it too. They had sayings engraved on all the benches which I loved. I'm putting the rest of the pictures I took in an album.

It looks like rain today and from the forcast we have a slight chance of rain all the way through Tuesday. Only a 20 to 30% but we all know that can change pretty fast.

I woke up at 4:45 this morning and it was Bill's fault and the noisy birds outside. He was going turkey hunting at our daughters place and when he left I woke up. I didn't hear him get up but it was when he started his van to leave is what woke me up. Of course I couldn't get back to sleep as hard as I tried so I gave up and came down and made coffee. So here I am.

Do you have any plans for the weekend? We don't but I wish we did. I hate being on the roads though on holidays so it's just as well I guess. Gas is between $2.35 and $2.45 around here but it's better then last year. I went and put flowers on mom and dad's graves the other day and that's always hard to do. But I'm sure it's hard on everyone isn't it.

Well  not much more to talk about it seems. I'm just rambling on here to try and fill the page lol. I guess I'll go get dressed and do some cleaning. The shower needs it again darn. I think that's  the worst job in the house. I'd rather scrub floors and wash windows then clean out the shower and tub.

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone and take care! And....

Kris Allen...the new American Idol winner.

Would you believe that over 100 million people called in to American Idol last night to vote for their favorite. That's a whole lot of people. If you didn't watch this show you missed the best thing on television in my opinion. Kris sang with Keith Urban and man it gave me goosebumps. He is so good!!! Then Adam sang with the rock group KISS and they blew my socks off. I almost feel like I'm one of their mother's and am so excited for them. Rod Stewart was on the show and sang Maggie Mae and the man still has it. I love Rod Stewart and have some of his cd's. Allison sang a song with Cyndi Lauper and it was awesome. Queen Latifa performed with Lil. One of my favorite part of the show was when Danny sang with Lionel Ritchey. Awesome, just awesome!!! I can't wait for his first cd as I will run right out and buy it.

I loved Kris' reaction when he won. I don't think he thought that he would be Adam. He is so humble and genuine and just a plain nice guy. I wish all the luck in the world. And Adam too and Danny and all of them. Adam was truely a gentleman when Kris won and I believe he was sincerely happy for him. They all will get recording contracts and I couldn't be happier for them.

You sure have to give it to these kids! They were all so talented this year and it was really hard to have a favorite. I like the show because I love seeing kids get to live their dreams and see them come true and I think that's why I watch the show.. It makes me feel good and happy for them. Any time a kid can do well and live out their dream is a good day. And it's real! I think this show has done more for the young people around the country then anything else. I feel bad for those who can't sing and they do get embarrassed but they know what the show is like before they audition. I do think they could go a little easier on them sometimes but let's face it, they really do think they can sing and they really need to find out they can't and find another dream to fulfill. Another thing the show does is raise money for charities. Not just in other countries but right here in the good ole U.S.A. It's a good show with a big heart.

I recorded it and I just might watch it again...it was THAT GOOD!

    Now what?

Am I going to watch now that Desperate Housewives is over, DWTS is done and tonight American Idol will be over. What ever will I do? I  might actually have to get a life lol. I guess it's back to the cooking shows for me. Those are fun to watch too though.

Yesterday I was going to go to the rotary center and take a walk through their gardens. I didn't want to take my purse and leave it in the car or carry it around so I just grabbed my DL, my cell phone and my camera and off I went. Well, I get there and find out they charge and entrance fee. It's only $5.00 but I didn't take any money with me. They never charged before so I didn't think to take any. From what I understand the gardens are beautiful. They have several different kinds. They have a Jananese garden, a sunken garden, and a Scottish garden just to name a few. Today is going to be another awesome day so I might just go back with my 5 bucks and see for myself.

I want to get some hanging plants to put on the deck too sometime today. Bill has to go to get another sump pump so I might ride with him and see what Menards has. I'm also thinking about getting one of those tomato plants that hang now too. I love tomato's! Especially if they are big and juicy. I'm so hungry for a nice and tasty BLT with sweet corn on the side thank you.

Well if I'm going to get all that done I better get dressed. They have laws around here about running around without clothes lol. First I will come and see what your plans for the day are.

    Hugs

    DWTS & more

I tried for hourse to vote for Shaun on DWTS last night but I kept getting a busy signal. I thought she did the best last night and improved the most. I'll be happy though if any of them wins as I like them all. Gille's is great and a wonderful dancer. Melissa has done wonderful too even through hurting her ribs and I love her personality. I guess we will find out tonight won't we.

It's suppose to be a great day today but they said that about yesterday too. It was suppose to be sunny and 71 but it turned windy, cloudy and even sprinkled some. It didn't even reach 65 let alone 71 and the wind made it feel even colder then that. Today they say it will reach 78, we'll see. They're such liars Open-mouthed.

Today would be a good day to wash my dirty filthy windows....or not lol. Shoud I or shouldn't I? What I'd really like to do is just take a nice long ride somewhere but we have things that need to be taken care of today so that's out.

For some odd reason live writer quit working for me and I love using that. I wish you could just uninstall that alone but when I looked for it it's bundled with all the other applications like the media player, the movie maker and photo viewer etc. So I would have to remove all of them and reinstall them all. Such a pain in the patootie if you ask me. You use to be able to reinstall just what you need but not anymore from what I can tell. I might do it anyway though and pray I don't mess things up more.

Well I guess that's all I can think of to talk about today. Not much excitement to talk about around here lately, kind of boring.

So here's wishing you all a great day and I will be around to see you soon.

    Take care

    Hugs

Devan's 9 B-day party. Oh what fun they had

Yesterday was Devan's 9th birthday party. They have a friend who has several horses and they asked her if they could bring one to the party for a surprise, and so she brought this magnificent animal. Brandy is her name and she is so gentle which is probably why they agreed to bring her. Acutally Jon went over to their place and rode her back to the party. The kids were so excited and happy and we all took rides on her. It was hard to get her going on your own for some reason so Jon would start of leading her. It was a great day and we all had fun. Toni was bad though, she took a pic of me trying to get on the horse with Jon helping me lol. Jesse had to help me get off, my bum leg just doesn't do what I want it too sometimes so it needed help swinging it on and off lol. We all took turns riding her and the kids loved it! After they took Brandy back home we ate and had cake and ice cream then Jon started a bon fire for roasting marshmellows and making smore's. Bill and I didn't stay for that though, it was almost 10 by then and Bill forgot to bring his pills along to take after he ate so we thought we better get going. Besides, I was so tired and it was cold last night and I didn't feel like sitting out there and freezing. All in all though it was a wonderful day and we are planning another big party for when Brody turns one! Can't wait for that one!!!

I put pictures in the album. I thought about leaving the one out of me trying to get on but I didn't lol. I have no pride lol.

    TGIF

I guess it doesn’t matter much to me if it’s Friday or not does it lol. I just put that up there for lack of a better title.

I had to miss thirsty Thursday last night as I had the kids here again and that’s always better then hanging out with a bunch of old ladies LOL. I’m sure they missed me though but when Terry reads this she’ll deny it if she went. I don’t even know if she went up there or not, I’ll have to call her later to see.

My brother-in-law (Rhonda’s husband) was admitted in the hospital yesterday. I guess he has a very severe infection in his leg and when the doctor at the clinic pushed on his leg it just exploded. They said he might even have to have surgery right away. I guess he keeps getting infection there and they don’t know why. He’s not diabetic or anything like that so it’s a mystery. I might run up there later to see him and find out what’s going on.

It sure doesn’t feel like spring around here. The nights have been cold and the days are cool, not even reaching 60 and way too much rain. Today is no different and the weekend will be the same. They say it will reach 70 next week and I sure hope so. I haven’t even been able to enjoy my swing on the deck as it’s just too chilly to sit out there. I guess I’m talking about the weather for the lack of anything else to talk about lol. So with that said I will bid you ado and wish you all a great day!

    Good Deals!

I went to the store yesterday to spend my gift card. I needed summer clothes so I got me a pair of capri’s. They were $40.00 marked down to $24.99. I was mad that I didn’t take the checkbook with me or more money because I found so many things I liked. Probably a good thing I didn’t have it huh. I did finally find a purse I could live with. Well the price convinced me that I could live with it. It was a 50.00 dollar purse on clearance for $9.80 and on top of that I found a billfold that originally cost $30.00 on clearance for $6.00. I do like them though. The purse is bigger then I normally buy as I don’t like big purses but it’s not too bad. It will do until I find something better. If I'd had more money with me I would have bought a top that I like a lot. I might just go back and get that today as there wasn’t too many of those left. I had that in the cart until I saw the purse and billfold and decided I couldn’t pass those up for the price of them.

I was talking to Beth on messenger and I’m getting such a kick out of her. She is so excited about becoming a grandma. She’s already making plans on what she’s going to buy and things she wants to do. One thing is for sure is that this baby will have so much love and attention and will be one happy baby. I’m so excited for her and Jack and the kids and I can’t wait to see that little bundle of joy. It’s going to be a long 9 months for them I think lol. You just know she’s going to be a wonderful grandmother and Jack will be a super grandpa. I told her that I highly recommend the job and the fun is just beginning.

Well it’s time for me to get off of here and get busy I guess. It’s going to be a nice day so I might just sit outside when I’m done cleaning. I was happy to see the hummingbirds finally appear here the other day. I love watching them. Anyway, I better scoot. See ya all later.

    UPDATE...

I went back and got the top I liked. Good thing too as they only had one left in my size :-)

A great weekend for the most part

Barb had a nice funeral and the kids did very well. All of Jon’s family from up north came down and it was nice meeting them. They all sure got a kick out of seeing Brody and he was passed around at the luncheon. He would give them his award winning smile and their hearts would melt. Jon seems to be doing pretty good. He realizes his mom was very sick and suffering and that she’s not in pain anymore. And to be honest it will be a big relief to them too. It was hard taking care of her this passed year especially. They couldn’t leave the house for very long or take any trips of any kind as she couldn’t be left alone very long. It’s sad to see someone go and we miss them but when they are in pain and can’t get better and their quality of life is so poor it makes it a little bit easier to not to have to watch them suffer like she was. And it was her decision to stop taking dialysis so it must have been what she wanted. She’s with her husband now and they are at peace with that.

I had a wonderful Mother’s Day. The party at Terry’s Saturday was fun with my other sister’s who couldn’t make it to Jesse’s and  Jacky’s duplex on Sunday. My sister Rhonda got a wonderful gift from her daughter. She made her a T-shirt with her boys pictures all over it and Rhonda just loved it! I bet she wore that too work on Sunday. I’ll have to ask her if she did lol. I would bet good money that she did. On Sunday then we went to the kids duplex to celebrate. No I didn’t get on the trampoline again lol. I told my kids not to get me anything because all the boys are laid off from work but did they listen…NO! I got flowers, gift cards and beautiful cards that almost made me cry.

Here’s a picture of Terry, Debi’s mom B.G. and me. The kids call us “The Mom’s”Mother's Day 006

Oh and Beth says she’s the queen! Well look who has the crown lol.

Mother's Day 004Actually it was Brianna’s that she wore in her dance recital but I just had to do it.

I wasn’t able to go to Brianna’s dance recital but they said he was adorable. During the curtain call Brianna did a little dance of her own which made them all laugh. They have all age groups perform and I guess during the 3 year olds performance one little girls tutu kept falling down and the audience loved that. I bet the poor mother felt so bad though but really it makes it fun and cute when the unexpected happens. It will be fun for them to look back on in the future.

So all in all it was a wonderful weekend except of course having to go to a funeral too. But that’s life and it’s a good reminder for us to make sure we enjoy and love each other every single day and be grateful for what we have. Don’t you think?

    May 08

To all of you Beautiful and Wonderful Mom’s out there.

I haven’t had much time to visit but I wanted to make sure that I wish all of you a wonderfully Happy Mother’s day.

Love, Hugs and Kisses to each and every one of you!

I decided not to go to Brianna’s dance recital tomorrow. Barb’s funeral is tomorrow and it would be hard getting to both. As much as I hate to miss it I thought my daughter might need help with her kids so it’s best I go there and stay for the luncheon. I could probably have made it to both if I just went to the funeral and not the luncheon but it would be tricky. Brianna understands and Jesse said he will send me pictures. There’s always next year and I’ve been to every one she’s been in.

Well I need to get busy making food. I went and got groceries earlier so get what I need. If I don’t get around to visit know I’m thinking of all of you and wishing you all a great weekend.

My condolence's go out to Al’s family and friends. May he rest in peace.

    May 06

    Yesterday

Jon’s mom Barb passed away about 6:30 in the afternoon. Jon and his sister’s were with her at the time. They were glad they were there but they said it was hard. I can attest to that. It’s really for the best though. Her quality of life was so poor and she’s been in a lot of pain the last few months. It’s good to know that her suffering is over. Jon will have it hard for awhile. He’s the one who took care of her which has kept him so busy, so after things settle down he might collapse kind of when it sinks in. I had the kids so Jon called to tell them that grandma was gone. Devan cried a little but Josh did very well. He said he doesn’t know why but he couldn’t cry. I told him that’s ok, every one is different and handles things in their own way that there’s no right or wrong way. Devan was helping me do dishes after and we talked. She had a lot of questions and I pray I answered them well enough to put her at ease. I think I did. My daughter called from work later and talked with the kids and that helped them a lot too.

Devan’s  9th birthday is on Friday so to take her mind off things I decided to take her birthday shopping early, so her and I jumped in the car and off we went. Josh asked if he could go too but I told him no that it’s always just me and whose birthday it is that goes. Besides, he had to stay and help grandpa take care of Brody. He was find with that as he knows that’s how it works. They will be having her party next weekend.

The next several days are going to be busy ones around here. I guess we are having two Mother’s Day party’s over the weekend. Saturday we will be over at Terry’s and Sunday we will be at our son Jesse’s to celebrate. Jodi’s son has to work Sunday so they couldn’t make it to Jesse’s and Brianna has a dance recital at 3:00 on Saturday so they might not make it to Terry’s on Saturday. Of course you know I won’t miss my granddaughter’s dance recital so I will be late showing up at Terry’s if I make it at all. We’ve always celebrated together for mother’s and father’s day with all of our kids and their families and it’s pretty tricky sometimes to find a day and time that fits everybody. That means I have to break down and get to the grocery store and figure out what I want to make for my dish to pass for both days. Then of course there’s Barb’s funeral. I don’t know when that will be yet but I’m hoping for Monday. I’ll be making food for that too. I guess I better start making a list huh.

Well I better get busy and I’m hungry too so I better get at it. Wishing you all a great day. Make it count.

    Hugs rose

Why men don’t write advice columns

    Dear Uncle Walter:
I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more then a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her. I'm 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that's he'd been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore. Can you please help?
    Sincerely,
    Sheila

    Dear Sheila:
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber. I hope this helps.

    Good Morning Blog Family

It’s going to be a pretty day with no rain in sight. Yesterday I went up to my daughters to help her get her house ready in case they decided to bring Barb home and have Hospice come in. That was their first thought but now they aren’t sure that’s what they want to do. The kids could stay here but they’d have to get up so early to get ready and drive the 20 miles to get to school. What ever they decide to do things are ready. Even if they don’t bring her home relatives from out of town will be stopping in so she feels better that the house is company ready. With her having to work and Jon spending most of his time at the hospital there isn’t much time left to clean so at least now it’s done.

Saturday I went with Terry and Jack to a anniversary party for my aunt. She’s the widow of my uncle who died years ago and remarried her present husband. But once your family, you're always family. Besides, it’s nice to see all the cousins in one place again. We have over 100 in the family so it can be pretty tough seeing each other. They were totally surprised as they thought they were going to her daughters retirement party. She even brought pumpkin bars lol. They were good too!

From there we went to a benefit for a little girl whose grandmother we know quite well who has had several surgeries. Poor little thing is only 8 years old but what a little doll she is.Her grandma is quite the singer and sings in a band so we had fun dancing and just having fun. They had raffles so I bought 39 tickets and took a chance on a urn planted with flowers and plants. Guess what, I won lol. The funny part is I was ready to go home so I called Bill to come and get me as Terry and Jack wasn’t ready to leave yet. I no more then got home when Terry called me to tell my I won the urn so I had to get in my car and go back to get it.I swear I was only home about 5 minutes when she called. I’ve been meaning to buy one of those to put flowers in and set it on my deck anyway so now I don’t have to. Cool huh!The main thing is I hope they had a great benefit and made a lot of money to help out that family and I especially hope that that sweet little girl doesn’t have to go through any more surgeries.

Today I’m just going to take it easy and do nothing…maybe.

    A hard decision

Those of you who read my blog regularly may remember me talking about my daughters mother-in-law. She lived with them since her husband died 4 years ago except for a few months she spent in a nursing home. She hasn’t been healthy for years either. She’s had 2 or 3 heart attacks, she’s diabetic and has kidney disease for which she’s been on dialysis for a couple years now. Lately she’s been in a lot of pain, fills up with fluids and they are having a hard time keeping it off of her. Doctors said that only 1% of her kidney’s work. She hasn’t felt good for so long and says she’s tired of being sick all the time. So, yesterday she decided she wasn’t going to take dialysis anymore. That’s the only thing that’s keeping her alive so I would guess that it’s just a matter of days before she passes.

Jon called  his sister’s and the one who lives in Colorado is coming in today. The other one lives in another town near here so she will be there as well. They are talking about bringing her home from the hospital and having Hospice come in so they can be with her around the clock and she will have the comfort of knowing she’s home. Hospice is a wonderful organization. We had them for my dad when he passed and they go above and beyond to help you. The only thing that bothers us about that is the kids being there. We don’t think they need to be there to watch their grandma die so they will stay with us.

That has to be the hardest decision of your life to make. I don’t know if I could do it. Her quality of life is so poor and I understand why she doesn’t want to suffer anymore but to make a decision like that knowing it’s your death sentence takes a lot of courage. I have to admire her strength and her courage. God be with you Barb!
