    William's Birthday Book

I finally finished Williams's Birthday Book that I've been working on for a week. The pictures were all taken inside the bowling alley and the lighting wasn't great but they will have to do.

I'm happy with the way it turned out. I hope he likes it.

    Good morning!

I don't know what I'm doing on here today as I have nothing to talk about at all. I thought if I got on I would think of something as I go along lol. So if I sound like I'm rambling, that's why.

Those of you who read Ann Rule books and read the book Everything She Ever Wanted might be interested in this. Pat Taylor is back in jail again. Remember how she poisoned people while pretending to be their caretaker. Even poisoned her husbands grandparents. got her husband to kill his parents etc etc. Well she's busted for parole violation and under suspicion for drug trafficking. She was caught with thousands of pills in her possession and claimed they were for her own use lol. I wonder if she had another victim in mind. The women is something else I tell ya and she's 70 years old now!!!. She even tried to kill her own daughter. Here's the link to the news broadcast in Atlanta which also has a video. http://tinyurl.com/2veps3.

Oh before I forget I have helpful tip for you. You know how monitors can get pretty dusty and dirty and can be hard to clean. Well click on this link http://www.hana-ess.eu.dodea.edu/activities/video/dog_screen_clean.swf  there is new product with video that works like a charm. I've done it myself and I really like it a lot.

A good friend of mine emailed me the other day to tell me that her 96 year old mom died. They live up north from me and as kids we use to spend a couple weeks at each others houses over the summer. She was a sweet lady and Carol was lucky to have been able to have her for so long. But news like that gets you to thinking and remembering doesn't it? I remember a time when I was there Carol and I was 15 and 16 and thought we were all that lol. Her parents had had a party the night before so we decided we would have our own little party the next night lol. They both worked nights so we were there all alone hehe!!! We decided to find out what vodka tasted like. The party-goers had used up all the mix and soda to mix with the vodka so we were depressed that we couldn't have our drink. But aha!!! we found a solution. We made koolaid to use as our mix lol. Hey it was pretty good actually, you should try it lol. We got caught though. We knew they would notice the bottle was a little more empty then what it was after the party. Well, how did we know that you can tell when vodka is watered down lol. So we got a good talking too and a warning to never do that again. So when Carol told me about her mom all those good memories came rushing back. She was a very nice lady!!!

Take care and have fun today!

    Friends Lists

    MySpace Graphics
    MySpace Comments & MySpace Layouts

Does anyone besides me think it's odd when people invite you to be on their friends list but never leaves a comment or comes back for that matter? I've been getting several of those lately. Not only that when I go to there site there is nothing on there. So I decline. I figure if you want to be a friend you would have left a comment at least and introduce yourself. That's what I do. I will go back a few times first thinking they are new to spaces and just getting started, but if it still stays blank I decline their invitation. I use to accept everyone but not anymore.

We didn't get as much snow as was predicted thank God. Probably about 4 inches at the most. That still makes for hazardous driving though. Especially when the wind is blowing and causing snow to drift. More is on the way tomorrow though darn it. I've been wanting to go eagle watching but it's been either too cold or too much snow. The weekend is suppose to be in the 40's so hopefully we will be able to go. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I need to go out and do something different. I am so tired of being cooped up in the house and only going out to get groceries. I might even go for a walk today just to get some fresh air.

We have 3 birthday's coming up next month. My son will be 38 on the 5th as will my son-in-law on the 11th. Josh will be 10 on the 10th so this is his golden birthday. I wonder if they even realize that as they haven't mentioned it. The big boys will just get money as usual but Josh and I will go shopping for his present. They get so excited when we do that. As soon as we walk in the door to pick them up we get the biggest hugs they can muster lol. Then we stop at McDonalds of course. Their favorite place in the world next to the toy store of course lol. I have to remember to get to the bank and buy his savings bond.

There was something else I was going to tell you but crs has set in once again lol. It's probably lost forever so you'll just have to wonder what it was lol. I'm sure it was something earth shattering that you absolutely needed to know ;).

Take care and enjoy your day.

    Here we go again

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Here we go again. 6 to 8 inches of snow predicted for this afternoon and tonight. A winter storm warning has been issued for our county. I must say though that over the weekend it was quite nice. The sun was beautiful and the temps were in the upper 20's and low 30's. I wonder what it means when you think temps in the 20's & 30's makes for a nice day lol. Kind of scary too me lol. There is hope though, they said high's in the 40's by this coming weekend.

I had to go out and buy another floor lamp for my scrap room. My son who moved out a few weeks ago needed one so I gave him the one I had in there. I thought at the time that it would be ok, I could just go and work during the day. It wasn't even two days when I wished I had the lamp back lol, so yesterday I went and bought another one. But if he came down and said he needed another one I know I would give him this one too lol.

Right now I am making a scrapbook for Williams birthday. He doesn't know it yet. I hope he likes it. Since the pictures were taken in the bowling alley they aren't that good but it's all I have so they have to do.

I went to a benefit on Saturday for a friend's son who had brain surgery recently. He had an aneurysm and in fact ended up having 5 surgeries. He's doing very well for what he's been through. He's not a kid, he's in his 40's but you still worry about your children no matter how old they are. I was happy to see him look so good. It was nice, a lot of people showed so I hope they made a lot of money for him. He didn't have insurance and you know that bill is going to be huge. He probably will never get that paid off in his life. Insurance is a pain isn't it. You pay and pay through the nose but one claim against them and they cancel you. If there is one thing that should be taken care of the insurance industry is one of them. They make up their own rules and doesn't have to answer to anyone. Something needs to be done I think. I only wish I knew what lol.

I hope everyone has a good Monday and a great week. I will as soon as the snow melts around here lol.

    Did ya see it!

    DSCF0263

Did you see the eclipse last night? The sky was clear from clouds and it was a spectacular view. Also visible on either side of the moon was Saturn and the star Regulus. They don't show up in the picture of course but I could see them plain as day. My daughter called all excited because her kids got to see their first eclipse and they thought that was quite amazing. I wish I had thought to get out the binoculars. They said with a telescope you could see Saturn's rings. I don't know if a pair of binoculars would have been powerful enough but who knows, maybe they would have. So darn I wish I had thought of that. Oh well, I'll have another chance in 2010 lol. That's when the next eclipse will occur.

The girls wasn't anywhere near as good as the guys were on American Idol last night. Some had the flu which didn't help but most let their nerves get to them or picked the wrong song. You have to give them credit though. I couldn't get up on that stage with millions watching and not lose it.

I was going through pictures yesterday and boy what fun I had. I have pictures of William when he was so little all the way up to now. Billy was worried when him and his wife got a divorce that he wouldn't have any pictures of William when he was little. No need to worry I have plenty. I even have pics of his first day of school. I don't know if I will scrap all of them as I have so many but right now I just have them in a photo box. I might put them in albums at least so they can have them later. Some pictures of all the kids and of their kids I am going to separate and give to them. Some I will scrap of course but some are better that they have them. Pictures that I have of my niece and nephews I will give to them too now that they are grown up. They will get a kick out of them like I did.

I have almost as many pictures of my nephew Trent that I have of my own kids and grandchildren. He was here almost as much as he was at home when he was small. My sister worked and I took care of him. I always have been a shutter bug ever since my kids were born and to this day I still take tons of pictures. It is quite daunting though to go through 41 years of pictures. Not to mention pictures of me and my sisters that my parents had. It is fum to look at them and reminisce. The problem with that though is you never get anything done lol.

Well I better get going. I have to pick Bill up from the garage where he's dropping of his van go have some work done on it.

    Have a great day!

    By the sea

    Animation Ladies

This is exactly where I'd like to be right now. Sitting by the ocean watching the waves roll in with the setting sun caressing my mind. Sound corny right? But I love the ocean, I love the sun set and I love the peace and tranquility that comes with it. When I was in Hawaii we would leave the windows open in our room so we could hear the waves come ashore. I even bought a CD of the waves so I could bring them home with me lol. I can dream can't I lol.

We have been trying to eat a little healthier lately. More fruits less fat and carbs. The whole chabang. Well today is the first time I made chili with ground turkey and it was pretty darn good. I'd like to try to stay away from beef as much as we can. Bill is diabetic so anything we do like that will of course be good for him. It's been ages that I've had anything sweet in the house. Well I should say anything that isn't sugar free. I almost always try to bake, broil, grill or steam our meat we are having for the day. But I have to say that sometimes you just crave good old fried food. I do use olive oil but I sure miss good old Crisco sometimes lol.

I'm in quite a dilemma. I started watching The Biggest Loser when the season started which is on at 7 o'clock. Well, I also love American Idol and Big Brother and wouldn't you know they are all on at the exact same time. I can tape one but which one should I choose lol. And the commercials are always on at the same time so you can't even switch back and forth to watch the other two. Of course they do that on purpose trying to get you to come to their network and get the ratings. Not fair I say!

Today is primary election day here in Wisconsin. They say so far it's been the biggest turn out in over 20 years. I'm glad to hear that. I think people are pretty much tired of Bush and his screw ups and are really ready for a change. The problem is who do you believe. They all make big promises and say they will do this or that but hardly ever turns out that way. Clinton is the only one in memory that did do at least some of what he said he would. He said he would balance the budget and he did. In fact he had a surplus in the budget when he left office but Bush had that spent in less then 10 months. He said he would give us more policemen and he did. More people had jobs then and unemployment was low. He tried to get more done but with a Republican congress he couldn't do as much as he had hoped. To be fair I am sitting here trying to think of one thing that Bush has done during his 8 years in office that has helped the majority of us and not just the rich. There probably is something, I just can't think of one right now. Bush's no student left behind program has failed miserably. He's created a deficit in the trillions, higher then it's ever been. All he's done is tell us lies to get us in a war we didn't need to be in. When Clinton left office the complaint was that he never got Osama. Well neither has Bush. I'm pretty sure Osama isn't in Iraq. So instead of trying his best to find him he goes after Sadam because he knew where he was. I guess you can tell that I don't like the man. I don't and I never have.  There was something about him right from the start that bothered me. He will never be the man his dad is. I like George Sr and thought he was a good president and did a good job. Too bad his son didn't follow his example. I only hope whoever our next president is can bring us back the respect of the rest of the world that we have lost over the last 8 years and put our wonderful country back on it's feet.

    Boring weekend

    glitter-graphics.com

    Good Morning!

Not much to talk about lately. Other then the weather of  course, and I'm trying to ignore that as much as I can. I didn't do a darn thing over the weekend. William was here so he was one the computer most of them time. Saturday I tried to do some scrapbooking but for the life of me I couldn't come up with a singe idea. Just couldn't get inspired at all. I bet I was there for two hours before I finally gave up. So I finally grabbed a book to read. It's a John Grisham  book titled the Brethren. So far I don't think it's his best work and was a little hard staying with it at first. I've read all of Ann Rule's books so I am just waiting for another of hers to be released. Oh, and Kathryn Casey has a book coming out in the spring that I think will be a good one. She's an excellent author. Her writing style is a lot like Ann's is. She wrote the Rapists Wife which was a page turner. It was a story about a women who knew her husband was the rapist they were looking for. She tried to turn him in but no one would believe her at first. It's a true story and you won't believe what she went through. I highly recommend it!

Tomorrow is election day here and I still haven't decided who I'm going to vote for. I just wish that once they would actually do what they say they are going to do while they are campaigning. Is that asking too much lol. I guess the best thing out of all of it is that we don't have much time left that we have to put up with Bush. I for one will be glad to see him gone! I never did like him. There was something about him right from the start that made me wary of him. I didn't trust him and as it turns out my gut feeling was spot on.  It does make you wonder why anyone would want that job though doesn't it? No matter what you do you are always going to have someone think you screwed up. Obama is suppose to have a rally here in town later today. No, I won't be there. I'd kind of like to go but I don't want to fight the crowds. I'll read about it in the newspaper. Gee I wonder how many agents I would see if I drove around town. I bet security is high. He's going after the young crowd and with this being a college town I can see why he wants to be here. Chelsey Clinton is also going to be in town too, speaking on behalf of her mom. Also aiming at the college crowd. I'd like to see her too but again the crowds would be a pain. So you can imagine how tight security is around here. Out of curiosity I might just take a drive around town to see what I can see lol.

Ok, I'm off the get going around here. Have a great day!

    February 16

    Who's right...me or them?

Yesterday I needed some body wash and hair spray so I went to the Dollar Tree Store where everything in the store is just a dollar. Ok, I have what I need and I go up to check out. I'm about the 3rd one in line with 3 or 4 more people behind me. There were two girls behind the counter but only one of them was working. The other one was just standing back there and telling the other one about her shopping trip. She was saying what a great deal she got on a pair of blue jeans and some other stuff. In the mean time the one who was working had a problem with a check a customer gave her. The rest of us are standing there wondering why the one who isn't doing anything doesn't check out the customers who are still in line waiting.

A lady who is 3 behind me asks what the hold up is. She was told about the check problem. So she says she has to be somewhere in 20 minutes, leaves her cart there and walks out. Now it's my turn to check out. The two working started talking about how rude she was and how awful it was that she walked out and left her cart there for them to put the stuff back. Can you believe that? Well, I've never been one to keep my mouth shut.

I said to them that it looks bad when there are two of them behind the counter with one just visiting and doing nothing. They said they were not visiting but that they were dealing with the problem with the check. I said, no you were too visiting. You were talking about the new blue jeans you just got and your shopping trip, so yes you were visiting. Then Yvette tells me that she isn't working but just stopped in for a little while. Well, I said how are we suppose to know that. You're behind the counter so of course we think you are working and wondering why you are standing here doing nothing. then  you start talking about the customer who left saying how rude she was with the rest of us standing here listening to that. Yvette then says to me, "Do I look like I'm working?" " I'm still in my pajamas and do I look like I did my hair?"  I told her how do I know how she comes into work. If you're not working then you shouldn't be distracting the one who is working and let her do her job. She told me it wasn't any of my business. It is my business I said. When you have 4 or 5 people waiting to check out and we think you are working we wonder why you are just standing there doing absolutely nothing. I told them that I have worked in retail all my life and have never seen such poor service in my life. She kept telling me that it wasn't any of my business what they do there. I then asked what the phone number was to corporate office and she told me to look it up and asked if I wanted her name. Silly girl told me what her name was. I said don't worry sweetie I will look it up. She then puts her hand up and kept saying bye, bye with her face being bright red. I think she regretted telling me her name.

This wasn't the first time I witnessed poor customer service in this store. Another time about a month ago when I was there an elderly gentleman was there. He needed help with something and hollered at a girl who was walking toward the storage area. Evidently she didn't hear him and kept on going. I was right behind him and saw him go to the door and tell the clerk there that he needed help. You won't believe what she said to him. She told him that she was busy at the moment and would help him when she was done. The women was just unloading a box, that's all she was doing. He must have said something to her because out she comes and goes with him to see what he needed. Again I am behind him at check out. He had several plates, cups, silverware and other household items that he was buying. She checks him out and off he goes. Know what she did next. She says to me that he was impatient and pushy. Again talking about their customers to another customer. In my experience in retail when a customer asks for help you stop what you are doing and go assist them, don't you? I didn't say what I was thinking that day but I was sure tempted too. I probably wouldn't have said anything yesterday if I hadn't seen how they treated him. But it seemed to me that they needed to hear it.

Well you can bet your bippy that I came home and emailed the corporate office. I told them what happened yesterday and I also told them about the elderly gentleman. And I also told them that I thought they should have a class and teach them how to handle their customers. And yes, I gave them Yvette's name. She was a little snip and needs to be brought down a peg or two in my opinion. It didn't take long for me to get a reply from headquarters. Here's a copy...

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail Dollar Tree regarding your recent
shopping experience.  Please accept our sincerest apology.  The situation
you describe is absolutely not the kind of customer service we are striving
for.   The District Manager has been notified of this issue and will take
appropriate action to remind our staff the basics of good customer service.

So I ask you. In your opinion was I right or wrong in doing what I did?

    Just lovely

    Photobucket

Oh it's going to be a lovely day tomorrow! We have anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of snow on the way with freezing rain and sleet mixed in. Isn't that just loverly lol. I can hardly wait. I bet you guys in Florida, California and all those warm states where it's always the same ole same ole wish you were here don't you? Be honest now, I know you do. You're sitting back there saying...gosh darn it, I wish we lived in Wisconsin. Well I wish you did too LOL!

We went out for breakfast this morning with some of the guys Bill use to work for and their wives. They are a nice bunch of people. I always enjoy that. We use to go out for breakfast quite often but lately we just haven't and I don't know why. Too lazy to go out in the early morning cold I guess. Well I am I should say. Bill takes William to school every morning and he doesn't wake me up anymore. He use to and we both went every morning but now I guess he thinks he might just as well go instead of both of us.

Speaking of William. He'll be spending the weekend with us again. His dad has plans and I guess William doesn't feel like staying home alone , so he wants to come here.  Of course you all know how much I hate that lol!!! We always have so fun together and love joking around.

I have a question for you computer experts. Can you load Microsoft Suite Works 2002 that came with Windows XP onto Vista windows? I don't want to load all of it, just Microsoft Picture it Photo 2002. You can't do as much with the photo software that comes with Vista. It doesn't have picture frames or or fun stuff you could do with pictures on the other program. I don't want to screw up my new computer and break it. Maybe I'll call HP and ask them. I tried looking it up on the web but I couldn't find anything.

Well I hope you all have a nice relaxing weekend. Go out and do something fun for me lol. Needless to say with the weather we have coming I won't be going anywhere.

    Have fun!

May you all have a wonderful day with your sweetie's

I got a very nice surprise in the mail. My sweet friend Cindy sent me the cutest birthday giftDSCF0188. Isn't that piggy bank the cutest thing. She knows how much I like to go out with the girls and so this was absolutely perfect. It brought such a smile to my face when I opened it. She also included some money to buy me a birthday drink. Now how sweet is that!!! Love ya Cindy and thank you so much. I can't wait until spring gets here and we can meet for lunch again!

I also got 2 birthday cards from  Queen Beth, one was a month early lol. (she was confused) and one from Lady of the Pier.

Thank you, all of you for being so sweet and thoughtful. Love you bunches!!!

I had a hard time getting into spaces the last couple of days. I kept getting that dreadful page cannot be displayed message all the time. That is so frustrating. I'm using live writer so I hope it goes in.

I made another scrap book page the other day and think it turned out pretty good. What do you think? I'm pretty happy with it.

    DSCF0258

I've just been doing pictures that I like so far but I don't have a album with just one theme other then the Christmas pictures. So I'm trying to figure out how to make the album where the pages look nice next to each other but with no particular theme to the album. If you have any suggestions please share. I hope you who does scrapbooking knows what I mean. It will just be pictures I've taken over the years but not for any special holiday or celebration. Just day to day pictures.

Ok, I hope this page goes into my blog and I don't get that darned message again.

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Many of you were friends that I I visit and who I consider my cyber family, you all know who you are Red heart. But some were first time visitors and I was so pleased with thier visit and hope you come back again. I will come and visit you very soon as well.

     THANK YOU ALL

    MUAH!!!!!

We didn't do anything special yesterday. All the kids called to wish my a happy birthday but my favorite one was when my grandchildren called to sing me happy birthday. That was so cute and it almost brought tears to my eyes. Then Eric said Grandma we havae a card for you but we ran out of stamps, we will send it when we get some lol. Kids, ya gotta love 'em!

My daughter went to see her doctor on Monday and they set the due date for the baby around August 5th. Pretty soon if they keep going we will have birthdays every month of the year lol. Right now we have 2 birthdays in Febuary, 3 in March, 1 in May,1 in June,1 in July and 4 in September.  So now when the baby comes we will have one in August. I do have a feeling though that this baby will be the last one we have. You know what that means don't you??? It means this one will get spoiled more then the others if that's possible lol. I worry about my daughter though. She works full time, she has 2 children already and her mother-in-law lives with them as well. The kids will be 8 and 10 so they are big enough that they can help mom out but that's not the problem. Her mother-in-law is. She's up there in age and seems to need a lot of attention. I feel bad for her but at the same time I worry about the stress it is  putting on my daughter. Now that they have moved it's not as easy for me to go and help out like I could have if they'd stayed here in town. I just don't know how she is going to handle it all.

Well I need to jump in the s hower and get cracking around here. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and I will be around soon to see ya!

    Happy Birthday to Me!

    My 4th birthday

Hip Hip Hooray I'm 61 today!!!

Yup, today is my birthday. The picture is of me when I was probably around 4 or 5 Years old. It was taken at my grandparents house where I spent a lot of time as a child. The two boys in the picture are my cousin's Bug and Gus. We all lived in the same neighborhood and were always together. I haven't changed a bit have I LOL!!!!

You know when I think back over the years it's remarkable the changes I have witnessed over time. I don't feel old at all but when I think that Harry Truman was the president when I was born, that really sounds like a long long time ago lol. I remember not having running water in the house, or a bathroom for that matter. We had an outhouse. Yes, you read that right we had an outhouse. There was a hand pump in the kitchen for water and to take a bath we had to heat water and pour it in a tin tub. There was an old pot belly stove in the dinning room that we had to keep throwing logs in to warm the house. I think I was about 6 when we got a oil burner.

Oh how I remember the day we got our first television. I was 8 then and boy I was mesmerized by that box. It was a Hallicrafter TV and as big as a refrigerator  almost but the screen was tiny.  Before that we had  radio and I remember sitting on the floor in front of it listening to the lone Ranger, Fibber McGee & Molly,The Shadow and the Glen Miller show. But when television was invented it brought all those people to life. Until then we could only imagine what they looked like. My favorite show as a child was Howdy Doody of course lol.

Those of you who are my age I'm sure you remember party lines on the telephones. I use to love to lift up the receiver and listen in on other peoples conversations lol. I got caught once too lol. I was probably about 12 and mom and dad were gone so I picked up the phone to call a friend and someone else was talking. Instead of hanging  up like a good girl I listened in. WELL, it just so happened that the lady who was on our line was complaining about us to the telephone company at that very moment. I didn't realize that at the time and hung up a few minutes later. Soon after our phone rang. You guessed it, it was the phone company calling to talk to mom or dad. I told them they wasn't home so she told me what she was calling about and asked me who was just listening in on the party line. Well I knew I was busted and would get in trouble if mom and dad found out so I had to think fast. I told her that I found my little cousin on the phone when I came in from outside and made her hang it up. She believed me and said not to let her do that because we could have our phone taken away lol. Needless to say I never listened in again, I'd hang up right away if I heard someone else was using the line LOL. Isn't it funny the things you remember?

But think about all that has been accomplished in 61 years. I can't even begin to mention it all. I was married when we got our first color TV. I was barely out of high school when we landed on the moon. There were no microwaves, computers, ipods, cell phones. All we had were transistor radios and HiFI's to play our 45 records on. the list goes on and on.

I use to love to listen to my grandpa talk about his youth. He was born in 1900 and the stories he told kept me asking for more. Then as I got older it was my mom and dad's stories that fascinated me. So I can see myself telling my grandchildren, who are willing to listen that is lol, stories of my growing up years lol.

Anyway, as far as I know we don't have any special plans made. It's a Tuesday and everyone has to work and it's not like we do something for every birthday we adults have. Only the milestone ones lol. It's just nice to have ANOTHER birthday LMAO.

What lovely weather we are having! It's a balmy 4 below with fantastic wind chills anywhere from -30 to -40. And it's going to get all the way up to 1 below so we have a nice day ahead of us. Don't you just love to have the breeze blowing through your hair. I think I might go sit out on the deck and read a book and enjoy this beautiful weather.

We celebrated William's birthday yesterday. He had it at a bowling alley and they do something called glow bowl. The kids had a ball! They give prizes out and have face painting. Each kids gets a bowling ball that all your guests can sign. Here is the party goers. And some pics I took there. Some didn't turn out so well because of the lighting in there but that's ok.

    Doing it all wrong lol

    friday

I'm not going to complain about the weather anymore as I've come to the conclusion that I'm doing it all wrong. Maybe if I embrace it I will fool the weatherman and he will think I like it and do the opposite and it will warm up and the snow will go away lol. Hey it could work...right lol.

I'm tired today though. I couldn't sleep for the life of me last night. I was still awake watching tv until 5 this morning. When I did finally fall asleep it was a restless sleep. I kept dreaming and waking up so at 8 I got up and stayed up. I don't remember the dreams, all I know is they kept waking me up.So, I see a nap in my future later today.

Last night I was making supper when the phone rings. It was my sister calling from the bar saying I was MIA lol. They were all there and felt I needed to be with them lol. So I through supper together...leftovers in the microwave...and off I went. We always have so much fun when all 4 of us are together. There's usually something we find to laugh and joke about. Last night it was funny things we remembered our kids did when they were little. All of my nieces and nephews are adults so there's lots to laugh about from their childhood.

Two of my granchildren got their pictures in the paper. They were out playing in the snow with my sister grandchildren and a neighbor took their pic and sent it to the paper. Sure looks like they were having lots of fun in the snow.

    Happy Birthday William

    Happy 16th Birthday William

    William

Sixteen already! I remember how happy and excited we were when your mom and dad came to tell us they were expecting a baby. Those 9 months were the longest 9 months in history for me. I couldn't wait to welcome our first grandchild. Then the day finally arrived and you were born. You were the cutest baby in the world! I'd never seen a baby born with as much hair as you did. You were just gorgeous and adorable.

Then our world collapsed on us. I still remember when you were just a few hours old and your dad called to tell us that the doctors told them that you had a heart condition and had to be flown to Madison Children's Hospital. I still remember standing there watching that helicopter take off and praying harder then I have ever prayed in my life. The ride to Madison took an eternity, We couldn't get there fast enough. You're mom and dad just clung to each other not knowing what they were facing. Then the doctors came with the bad news. They said that you had several heart defects and will need open heart surgery probably more then once. You were born with transpositioned coronary arteries, your pulmonary artery had to be repaired and you also had several holes in your heart.  They wanted to wait until you were a year old when you were bigger and stronger to do surgery, but that was not to be. You were only 3 days old when you had your first heart surgery. It seems all babies are born with a hole in between the heart chambers that brings oxygen to the heart before they are born. This hole normally closes after birth but for you that was a bad thing. That little hole is what was keeping you alive and keeping the oxygen going where it needed to go and kept your heart pumping. So when it started to close you had to have your first heart surgery and reopen the hole. This allowed them to wait awhile to do the surgeries to repair the rest. After a month you came home.

At 5 months you had your first open heart surgery. I can still see you lying there in that crib with all the tubes and wires and monitors connected to you. We would watch the monitors so close just willing them to stay where they should and not send an alarm. With each passing day you got better and in a few weeks you were back home again.

Then when you were 4 you had to go through it all over again. It seems a valve wasn't working like it should and needed to be replaced or repaired. Only this time you had to go to Chicago Children's Hospital. We all rented rooms so we could be there with you and for your mom and dad. William, your mom and dad are so strong. You're mom brought your favorite things from home for you to have with you. Before your surgery your dad went out and bought a tape of lullabies and played them at night for you to fall asleep with. They played them for weeks and weeks ahead of time. Then after the operation was over they would play those tapes when you started to fuss with pain. The minute they started playing you would settle right down and go back to sleep again. It was like a miracle and it worked every time. After a few days you had improved enough that they could start taking the tubes out and the wires off of you. I still smile when I think about the day the doctors came in to take the last ones off. You shook your little finger at them and said "I want you go" Little did you realize they were your best friends at the time.

Well William, after several surgeries and procedures here you are 16 already! We will be forever grateful to the doctors and nurses who nursed you back to health. Especially to the nurse who first noticed that you turned blue as she was feeding you and alerted the doctors here at home. God bless them all.

You have grown into a wonderful young man William. You are kind, caring, compassionate and respectful. I love that you have such a great sense of humor and love to joke around. Mostly at my expense I might add lol. I love that you like to come stay with us as much as you do. I wouldn't have it any other way. You're a good boy and we are so proud of you. I always said that you are here for a reason and I can't wait to see what that ends up to be. Unless it's just that you bring so much joy to those who love you and all the friends that you have. That alone would be reason enough but I think the best is yet to come.

    I love you William!!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    Stoopid Weatherman!

    Very Sexy Comments & Graphics

I hate the weather man!!!! He's telling us that we have another snow storm on the way that will drop 8 or 9 more inches of snow on us. I think someone should take him out to the woodshed and straighten him out lol. One good thing thought is that it gets above freezing between storms and melts what we already have. That way at least it isn't piling on top of each other and creating mountains of snow.

Did any of you watch 20/20 last night? It was about Natalie Holloway. This guy befriended Van Der Sloot and got him to tell him what happened that night. He confessed to this guy that he was with her. He said she was very drunk and when they were on the beach she started shaking violently and then just stopped. He said he tried to revive her but when she didn't come around he thought she was dead so he called a friend of his who then put her in his boat and took her out to sea and threw her over. He's saying that he didn't go with his friend, that he went  home instead and let his friend do it. They found his friend and he wasn't even there on Aruba at the time. When his friend heard that he was accusing him he went to Aruba right away to give his statement. In my opinion Van Der Sloot took her out to sea. He told this guy who was working undercover that if they found her body he would be in deep shit It was all on tape and video. The car was rigged with cameras and audio and they got him good. His attitude is what got to me. He was so cold and was even laughing about it. At least now Natalie's family knows what happened. It's the not knowing that drives you crazy. I would wonder if she was sold into prostitution and being tortured or something. I would lose my mind. I hope they nail the SOB good and wipe that smug smile off of his face.

Have you ever heard of Pandora radio? I am listening to it right now. It's a radio station where you can choose what kind of music you like to listen too. You create your own radio station and can choose the genre that you like. All you have to do is put in a name of your favorite artist for instance and they will play songs along that line. Or you can pick blues, jazz, rock, oldies etc. etc. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out http://pandora.com/. I listen to music all day so I love this site. Especially now that I don't have any cd's downloaded on this new computer yet.

Well I need to get busy here. I probably should check the cupboards and freezer to see if we need supplies before the stoopid snow storm hits us again. Have a great Tuesday!

    Patriots get spanked

    thumbnail

The only thing that could have made me happier about how the super bowl went is if it was the Packers who spanked the Patriots. Belicheck is such a poor loser that he even left the field before the game was officially over. What a JERK! And I loved the look on Brady's face. It was one of those Kodak moments lol. I do believe he thought he was unbeatable. Loved it to that he got sacked not once but 3 or 4 times lol.

I've been busy this morning cleaning out the room my son had. Now that he's moved out I have a room I can make into anything I want lol. I guess it will probably be my scrap room lol. First I need to paint in there though as it's been quite a few years since the last time it was painted. But I'll even have fun doing that knowing that it's mine...all  mine lol.

You won't believe the stuff I found in the closet there. I found our very first computer. A commadore 64. I thought I'd thrown that out but now that I think of it the kids never let me throw anything away. I doubt it's worth anything so I might still toss it or see if one of the kids wants it. I also found an old wooden sword that my dad made for Jesse when he was a little boy lol. Wanna bet Jesse will still want that? I also found a silver coffee set with the creamer and sugar bowl and tray. I knew I had that somewhere lol. It's tarnished but that's easily taken care of.

Speaking of silver. It reminds me of my aunt years ago when my cousin got married. She had gotten some silver for wedding gifts which they thought was great at first. Well a few months later I was talking to my aunt and she was complaining that the silver must have been cheap stuff because it tarnished already lol. She felt a little funny when I told her that real silver does tarnish. It's the fake stuff that doesn't lol. Isn’t it funny what memories come back to you when you start talking about something else lol.

Ok, gotta run! Have a great week one and all!

    My kids

    Photobucket

We had a little scare the other day. My daughter is expecting a baby and she started to spot. She's only 12 weeks along so that worried her. It's pretty common for some women to spot during their entire pregnancy but she has never done that with her other kids so it bothered her when that happened. She went to the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and took an ultrasound and said everything is fine.  They also told her that the heart rate is fast enough that it might be a girl. Of course that doesn't always mean anything but you never know.

It's back to just the two of us again. Our youngest son moved out yesterday and moved in with his girlfriend. This is the second time he left home and I think this will probably be the last. Even though he was hardly ever here it feels strange knowing he won't be coming home at night anymore. All of my sons have left home and moved back at least once. My daughter on the other hand has never moved back home after she left. Is it me or doesn't it seem that sons do that more often then daughters do?  I will always let any of our kids come back home if they needed too. I do want them to make lives of their own and be happy but I would never turn them away if they needed help. I am happy for him and wish them the best. As long as my kids are happy, I'm happy lol.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday and I hope the Giants win! In reality though I guess I don't really care all that much except for the fact that I feel the Patriots are a dirty team. Now if the Packers were playing that would be another story lol. Speaking of the Packers they already have their roster set for the year 2035 and guess who their QB is?

    That's my boy LOL!
