    Good Riddance 2008 &

good bye Pictures, Images and Photos

Personally I'm happy to see this year end. It hasn't been a good year for us so I'm hoping next year will be better. It started out crappy with the winter we had, then came the floods in the spring and early summer, and with that came water rushing in our basement and polluting our drinking water for some people. And because of that we wasn't able to take any trips this year and that kills me. I love traveling and this was the first year in a long long time that we couldn't go anywhere at all. Then our daughter got laid off from work just before she had Brody. She gets called back and we thought things will be fine. Nope, wasn't going to be fine at all. General Motors announce they were closing the plant here and because of that our oldest son lost his job. Then our youngest son gets laid off from where he worked where they build semi truck trailers. He was lucky though and was able to find another job and this one is even closer to home. So here we are thinking the worst is over except for our oldest going to be out of work when all of a sudden our son-in-law gets laid off too. So both of them are job hunting right now. The bright spot of the year was when our sweet Brody was born. He made it all worth while.

Even with all that I am grateful for what we do have. We have each other, we are happy and healthy. We all have a roof over our heads and food on the table unlike a lot of people around the world. We have good friends and I have all of you out there who have made this past year a little brighter for me with your hugs and support and sharing your life. When I think about the bad luck I am reminded of what my mom use to say. I know I've probably said it before but here it is again. She would say "I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet." If that doesn't put things in perspective nothing will. So all of this is a walk in the park compared to what it could be. I am blessed.

So my wish for all of you is that 2009 brings to you many blessings. And that you have a happy healthy and wonderful New Year!

    Big Hugs, Much Love

    And God Bless you all!

    Bill's in trouble.

Bill is going to have to make a new year's resolution. It's going to be that he doesn't get on the computer and get in a poker tourny until after I have been on here posting and visiting Waiting Big Grin. Everyday the last couple of weeks he's been up and awake before me and gets in a tournament. This morning he was doing well and lasted for over 3 hours and finished in 66th place. Usually he loses after an hour or so but sometimes he gets lucky Now, you have to understand that there can be thousand's of people playing so if you keep winning it can take awhile. So we are going to have to have a heart to heart soon lol.

One good thing came from him playing poker this morning. I got my laundry done so I'm ahead of the game there lol.Now he's upstairs cleaning out his T-shirt drawer. That man has so many T-shirts, many that he's never worn and it's getting to the point where he can't close the drawer without squishing them down. My sister wears them for work so we will give them to her. She's a machinist so she doesn't want to wear anything good as they would get ruined. He just came down and said he counted 50 shirts Hypnotized. There's no way he would ever wear them all so out they go.Geesh,he's only getting rid of 15 Surprise. I guess I wouldn't have to wash his shirts for 34 days huh lol.

Terry and I went shopping yesterday and used our Hobby Lobby gift cards we got for Christmas. It was great because they had a lot of things 50% off. I think we did pretty good.I needed some face moisturizer so from there we stopped at the dollar store.I think I'm addicted to moisturizer as I can't go a day without it.It's the first thing I put on in the morning and after my shower. All the experts say that you don't have to spend a fortune on it either. According to them, moisturizer is moisturizer no matter what it costs, and I believe it. I've seen so many dermatologists on talk shows tell you that so I buy the cheapest I can find. Besides, it's great for taking off make-up as well.

Oh before I forget I want to thank Carlos for this lovely trophy he gave me for doing his guestbook event.I've been terrible about putting all the gifs in my photo album but I want you to know that I love them all and I thank you.

Have a super great Tuesday everyone.

    Brody's Baby Book

I guess when I think about it the book is more for Brody then of Brody. The pictures I put in there were taken on the day he was born. I had fun doing it and am happy with the way it turned out.

    DSCF1408  DSCF1416  DSCF1415  DSCF1412  DSCF1414

Now I have to come up with something else to do. As soon as my kids send me the pictures they took on Christmas I think I'll have plenty to do. Day dreaming

It's been a nasty couple of days around here. Rain and fog is what we're getting. The temp's have been pretty good though, almost don't even need a coat to wear out. A lot of the snow has melted. I bet we had a foot of snow piled on our picnic table and it is completely gone now. All we have left is dirty snow and mud. Not to worry though, more is on the way from what they are saying. We were under a flash flood watch yesterday and that sent me flying. After last year that's the last thing I want to hear. I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby but it was too foggy to drive that far for me and they aren't open tomorrow so I guess I have to wait until Monday.

It sure is quiet here today. Bill's watching a movie and I just finished watching one. I watch My Best Friends Wedding with Julia Roberts and really liked it. Of course I like almost anything she's in. Thinking about it I don't think I haven't like a movie she was in. Bill's watching some cowboy and Indian movie. I like some of those too but don't feel like watching another movie when I just finished watching one. We use to watch movie's together but now that we have the computer we don't so much anymore. If I'm watching one he's on here playing poker and if he's watching one I'm on here. I guess that's what happens when you've been married over 40 years smile_wink Red heart smile_regular.

It's time for dinner so I better go figure out what to make. I hope you all are having and enjoying a good weekend.

    Later gator.

    Home Video

    From my family to yours.

We had a wonderful Christmas with the kids and I'm kind of sad it's over. The kids loved everything they got and was bubbly and silly as you can tell from the video lol.

We kept a close eye on Santa with Google Earth and watched him travel around the world. As soon as he hit New York the kids were excited that he was getting close. I have a bunch of pictures I'll be putting in the album and I hope the other kids remember to send me the ones they took. I'm kind of sad the video is so dark. It sure didn't seem that dark in the house. All the lights were but oh well not much we can do about it now.

Once again we had so much food and I really tried to hold back this time. I thought I did a good job too but there was way too much. I sent each family home with enough for their dinner tomorrow and I still have enough left for us. Someday I'll get it right but I'm pretty sure they don't mind taking some home.

It was a great Christmas but now I'm tired and I'm going to bed.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too!

    Nativity Scene & Water Globes

    Nativity Scene

Here is my Nativity Scene I made that I mentioned a few days ago for those who haven't seen it. I am pretty proud of it. The kings have jewels on their fingers and clothing and so does the camel. It did take me an entire year to do this but I'm glad I took my time with it. We couldn't find it at first this year. When we flooded we moved a lot of things around in the basement so when we couldn't find it Bill said maybe I gave it away. I looked at him and said 'Are you Crazy? I wouldn't give that away." But it was there under a tarp. I think he thought it was something else when he moved things around down there. The kids all wanted me to make them one but I told them that when I die they will just have to take turns with it at Christmas. It will just have to be a traveling Nativity Scene. The Shepard's hook broke and that makes me sad. I tried to glue it but it just wouldn't stay. I might take it up to the ceramic place where I did it and see if they can figure out a way to fix it.

And here's my water globe collection. It's not all of them, there are still 5 more that wouldn't fit on the table.

    DSCF1419

Devan arranged them all and picked out the one she wants lol.

Oh, the lamp in the back, I made them too. Now I'm wondering why I ever gave up ceramics lol. I did enjoy it. It can be an expensive hobby though which is why I probably gave it up. Now that scrapbooking is my hobby I find that can be expensive too. But, I'm enjoying that just as much. I did take pics of Brody's baby book but I won't put them up quite yet. I don't care if my daughter reads this and knows she's getting a book because it isn't anything like she would expect it to be.

So that's all I have to brag about today lol. I hope you all are having a good Monday. I've been to visit some of you and will try to get around to more of you later today but now I have to get busy and get some things done.

    See ya later.

    What I've been up too.

Well, I think I'm about as ready as I can be for Christmas Eve. I went to get the groceries I will need and tomorrow I will do a little baking. I'm going to make some breads but as for other desserts my kids bring those. I had to return a gift I bought for Eric so I did that yesterday too. Good thing I did too because it's -8 here and too darn cold to go out. I should start my car and let it run for a bit but I can do that from inside the house. I have a remote start on it and I love that thing. I would love to wash my car too, it's covered with salt and dirt. A big truck passed me yesterday and sprayed my car so bad I had to turn the wipers on. Don't dare wash it though, the doors would freeze shut.

I did some scrapbooking yesterday. I made a baby book of Brody and will give that to them for a gift. It turned out pretty good I think.  I will take pictures of it  and put them up but probably not until after Christmas as my daughter checks my space. Don't want to ruin the surprise. It only took me two days to do it which amazed me. I was putting it off as I wasn't sure how I want to do it but once I started it just kind of fell together. I wish that was always the case. I'm looking forward for the Christmas pictures, I bought some really pretty paper and can't wait to use it. So that will be fun.

I sure wouldn't want to be at the Packer game tomorrow as cold as it is. They play in Chicago and they just said the winds  there are 15 to 30 mph so you know the wind chills are going to be way below zero. They said as much as -25 or more. That's too dangerous. I love the Packers but it sure isn't worth freezing my tail off out there when I can watch them from my cozy living room. You know there's going to be some weirdo's at the game that take their shirts off and painted green and gold. It happens every year. I'm sure they do it just so they can get on TV. It works too, they always show them. You'll see guys with no shirts and girls in bikini tops. Packer game one day, hospital room the next lol. They are out of it for the playoffs but I still hope they beat the Bears. Go Pack!!!

Take care and stay warm and safe.

    Sub Zero

It's not going to be very nice around for the next few days. Here's our forecast for tomorrow...

    Hi: 6°

Bitterly cold. Colder...brisk. Snow showers likely. Blowing snow. Little or no snow accumulation. Highs around 6. West winds 20 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent. Lowest wind chill readings 15 below to 25 below zero.

    Lo: -5°

Bitterly cold. Decreasing clouds. Blowing snow. Lows around 5 below. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Lowest wind chill readings 18 below to 28 below zero.

It's 28 right now and I'm heading for the grocery store and get that out of the way. Then off to Shopko to take back a gift I bought for Eric because they already got him the same thing. I want to get all this done before tomorrow when the cold snap hits us.

But I wanted to pop in and wish you all a great day and weekend. I will be over to see you later if William doesn't take over lol.

    Snowed in

Happy Holdays in glitter Pictures, Images and Photos

We are snowed in! It started snowing last night around midnight and so far we have about 7 inches. We are getting about an inch to an inch and a half every hour. I think Cindy's  getting it worse though. All the schools are closed and the police are telling people if you don't have to go out don't. We are going to have to force our doors open so we can get outside and shovel lol. Visibility is low, I can't even see the big hills from my window like I normally can. You can bet that I'll be staying put. When it's like this and the plows haven't been out you can't tell if you still on the road or not. If you don't know they road you don't know when it curves and when it doesn't so  it's easy to end up in a ditch. Then I don't even want to think about hills. You either can't get up them or you can't stop at the bottom of them lol. I'm sure glad I got my shopping done yesterday. Haven't gotten groceries yet but I have enough to keep us going until the roads are clear again. It's suppose to snow all weekend so we are definitely going to have a white Christmas here.

I met my sister's for thirsty Thursday last night and had a good time. We didn't stay too long as we knew the storm was on the way. I didn't have the kids last night and it was a good thing with the way the weather was. My daughter called at 2 a.m. to let me know she was headed home from work. She said it was freezing rain then and would call again when she got there. She made it ok but she said the roads were awful, she thought she was going to slide into a ditch a couple of times. I hope they close the plant today so she doesn't have to go out again. Company's don't care though, they figure if they can make it in so can you.

Oh, one more of my family is going to be out of a job as well. Jon, my daughter's husband is getting laid off too...probably permanently. The only good thing about that is the kids won't have to be taken out in the snow and cold anymore. Until he finds something else that is.  My second son works at the same place he does so I hope he doesn't get it. If he does that will be 3 in my own family without jobs. I hope all these company's who thought it was a smart idea to outsource their jobs to other countries are happy now. Of course no one will have any money to buy their products so just how smart was it after all. They don't pay people in other countries much either so they can't afford to buy. Now they are whining and crying that they aren't making any money...boohoo! They don't want to pay decent wages yet they want to charge top dollar. Oh well, stupid is as stupid does.

Ok, enough ranting. Time for me to get busy. As long as I have to stay in I might as well clean and get things done here. I'll try to get around to visit but William is here and will probably take over the computer when I'm done. Wishing you all a great day and if you're in the snowy part of the country stay home if you can and be safe if you have to go out.

    I'm done, finished, kaput

    cool myspace layouts

With my Christmas shopping (I think). I finished it yesterday afternoon and this morning so now all I have left to do is get to the grocery store. I think I'm going to keep it simple for Christmas Eve when all the kids are here. I'm leaning toward Italian beef sandwiches, a couple salads, some baked beans and some fruit and cheeses. I might buy a ham and bake it then slice it up for sandwiches too. The little kids would probably prefer the ham over the beef. Then of course a pie or two and some breads. I'm even thinking of getting stuff to make grasshoppers...yum!

Bill's going to be mad at me. He told me at least a month ago or more not to get him anything for Christmas and he won't get me anything and I said ok. Well....I lied. I didn't buy him anything big, just a sweatshirt. He only has two and now that he's cold all the time I figured another one wouldn't hurt. Besides, this one is a nice one that he can wear if we go out to eat at our favorite little family restaurant up the street from us.

William will be staying over tonight. His dad called and asked if it was ok, silly question right? A bunch of people he works with wants to get together after work tonight and drown their sorrows I guess. It's their last week of work and then the plant is closed and they will all be on the unemployment line. It's getting bad around here I tell ya. If you haven't read Danielle's blog yet her husband found out his job will be gone in June too. My niece Carolyn works there as well so that's more of my family who will be out of work. What's funny is my sister and my son both said we should all buy condo's and live together lol. It's not really funny though as it could come to something like that. My kids know they can always come back home and live if they have too. Of course our house isn't big enough for the whole bunch of them but you do what you have to do. They said on the news that with so many out of work here in Wisconsin unemployment benefits might go broke and then no one will get any money. What do people do then? It's crazy. Our parents lived through the depression of the 20's and I'm sure we will get through this too but I never thought I would see it this bad in my life time. But, things will turn around and we will be fine...won't we? Of course we will Big Grin. Gotta have faith!Flag

Ok, enough bad news. It's Christmas time and time for family fun and laughter and love. I will be stopping in soon so have the coffee brewing.

    Big Hugs

    Christmas Tree & closing Illinois

The kids were all excited the other day when they got here and saw I had presents under the tree. Well I should say Devan was. She wanted to go through them and find hers. I wouldn't let her though, I told her she had to wait until Christmas Eve. Josh didn't go near it or even ask if he could. Devan was a big help decorating it.DSCF1386 She loves doing things like that. Actually she loves helping with everything. She's especially good with Brody.  Speaking of Brody, he had his 4 month check-up today and he weighs 15lbs. 3 oz's. and is 26 inches long. He's more then doubled his weight. A sad note though, he has eczema. The doctor gave them some creams for it and hopefully it will go away. Josh had it too when he was a baby but it's gone now and hasn't come back.
The kids got here safe and sound last night about 8:30 so I put myself through all that worry for nothing once again. But...Deanna had to work until 2 a.m. so after she picked the kids up and headed home I sat up waiting for her to call to let me know they got home ok. She had forgotten her cell phone at home so I gave her mine to take with her. How did we live so long with those? They sure are nice knowing they can call you if they get stuck or something. We are expecting 8 to 11 inches of snow tomorrow afternoon but Jon doesn't have to work so I won't have the kids and I will feel better knowing they are home and not on the roads. Now all I have to worry about is my daughter driving home again at 2 in the morning. I told her if it's really bad just to come here and stay. There's no sense in taking a chance if you don't have too. Let's see, I don't think I have anything else to worry about lol. Guess I'll have to think up something huh Thinking.
Oh, by a request from Beth Marie I hereby close the state of Illinois too. All Illinois residents are to pack up and leave by January 5th. I can't close it any sooner then that because the residents from Wisconsin have to drive through there on their way south. Boy a lot of people must have decided to leave earlier then I told them too as the interstate had a 7 mile back-up yesterday afternoon. Someone who was in a hurry caused an accident which caused the back-up. So people, please use caution and be careful. We want you all back in one piece come May.
Time for me to come and see what all of you are up to today. Whatever it is have fun but be safe. TTFN
    December 16

    I here-by declare

That Wisconsin is closed. That's right folks, I'm closing Wisconsin. All residents are ordered to pack up and head south until the end of April when I will re-open Wisconsin at that time. No if's and's or but's about it. Every man, women, child and pet are to be gone by December 31st. Due to the extreme cold and dangerous conditions this action is necessary. Please leave in an orderly fashion so as not to cause traffic jams. You're co-operation will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    December 15

    Baby, it's cold out there.

It's a blustery 1 degree outside with wind chill at -15. Did I mention that I hate winter? At least this year I do.  Oh, I guess I did last year too didn't I? All I know is I hope we don't get another spring like we did last year too. I sure don't want to be flooded again. Last winter the river froze so bad and created ice jams which got things started when they started to melt.

I wrapped all the gifts I have so far yesterday and am glad to have that job done. I didn't get my shopping done yesterday like I planned. I couldn't find what I was looking for so I guess I'm going to have to go to the near-by town to finish up. Probably won't be today though as cold as it is. I don't have many left to buy so I'm not worried about it. I guess it's a good day to get the laundry done and the house picked up a bit.

Was Desperate Housewives on last night? I have my DVR scheduled to record it every week. Bill wanted to watch something he's been waiting for so I planned on watching it later and it wasn't there. I will look for it on the web and see if I missed it and watch it that way.

The Packer's lost again yesterday so they are out of the playoffs for this year. I don't think management thought they would have such a bad year. But guess who won yesterday? Yep, the Jets won. Oh well, the Pack can only get better. They are a young team and will improve every year.

Better get going and get things done around here. I'd go put another log on the fire to keep it warmer in here if I had a fireplace lol. The closest I can get to that is to cook something and I'm not in the mood for that right now.

Have a good day one and all. See ya soon.

    December 14

    I was wrong

    From Carol

    Thank you Carol!

And I'll admit it. The full moon has nothing to do with it being so cold according to my local weather guy. I emailed him to ask him that very question and here's what he said...

    Sherry,
    Thanks for the question!
There's no correlation between the cold and the full moon. However, it's usually colder at night when skies are clear, since the clouds act as a blanket trapping heat near the earth. And, you're more likely to notice that it's clear when the moon is full, since it illuminates the night sky much more so than stars alone.
So, you're more likely to notice the full moon when it's cold than when it's cold without a full moon!
    Thanks for writing!
    Gary Cannalte

So there you have it folks. I was wrong. Hey, it can happen! I vaguely remember being wrong once before about 27 years agoThinking

Christmas Santa Pictures, Images and Photos

I finished putting up the decorations yesterday. I didn't put up as many as I normally do, just didn't feel like digging them all out. I usually hang snowflakes in the doorways of all the rooms but they got so tangled up and I didn't feel like fighting with them. Devan put all my water globes on my end table. I didn't realize I had 19 of them lol. She loves water globes and wants her own collection. That's good to know isn't it hehe. I had the kids here for a bit yesterday so mom and dad could go talk to Santa. It just so happens that Santa had just what they were asking for. I got all the letters mailed out and they should get them tomorrow. I can't wait to see pics. of them reading it. I also sent some to my neice's little boys and to Trent's new baby. They don't know it though so they will be just as surprised as their kids hehe.

I'm going to go out and try to finish my shopping today. I have to remember to get  something to put in Brody's stocking too. Bill and I had told our kids not to buy us anything this year. Most of my kids have been laid off for part of the year and our oldest is going to be without a job the 23rd, so we told them not to get us anything. Well I was asking the one son who has been the lucky one and has worked all year what they would like this year. He wouldn't tell me because I wouldn't give him ideas for us lol. I finally got out of him what his wife would like but he wouldn't tell me what he would like. He thinks he's so smart. But mom is smarter. I email Debi and asked her and she gave me a few ideas lol.

Maybe I'll take pics of my water globes and Nativity Scene and Christmas tree sometime today to put in here. I love my Nativity Scene. Probably because I made it when I was doing ceramics. I did a pretty darn good job of it too. It took me and entire year to do them all but it was worth it in the end.

Well I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. I'll be around to say hi as soon as I get dressed. Wouldn't want to come to your door in my jammies now would I lol.

    See ya soon!

    Hugs

    Full moon

Fullmoon Magick Pictures, Images and Photos

Have you ever noticed that when the moon is full like it's going to be tonight is when it's the coldest time of the month? I've noticed that over the years. I should ask a meteorologist why that is or if it's just my imagination. Maybe I'll write in to our local weather guy and ask him. It's only 9 out there today and going all the way up to 14.

Went to thirsty Thursday last night and it was pretty quiet up there. I think besides the 4 of us sisters there was only 2 other customers that came in. When we left Rhonda had just one to take care of . I suppose with the economy the way it is keeps people away and of course they are thinking of Christmas too. It's kind of nice though with just us there. We can talk about anything we want without worrying about offending anyone lol. Since us girls like to solve the worlds problems and that usually includes politics there's a good chance someone might disagree with us and we wouldn't want to offend anybody.

I can't stop thinking about that poor little baby they found who might be little Caylee. I heard this morning on the Today Show that there was duct tape over her mouth. It breaks my heart thinking what that precious little baby went through before she(?) died. For the life of my I can't understand how anyone can hurt a child. I wish there was a way to find out if someone is an abuser of any kind before they have a chance to hurt a child and put them away. I think I could personally take them out and feel no quilt what-so-ever! I know I could if someone hurt a child in my family. Once more, I would happily go to jail and serve my time knowing that creep will never ever hurt another kid again. Oh to be able to rid the world of scum like that!

I guess I better get busy around here so I will close for now and try to get my mind on other things.

Have a great Friday and a Happy Weekend!

    Hugs

    Sherry

    December 11

    Did they find Caylee?

CNN is reporting that the reamins of a child was found in the woods near the Anthony home. The police have cordoned off the area there and from what I understand they have also aquired a search warrent for Casy's parents home as well.

Nancy Grace said that Casey, Caylee's mom said in an interview that she knows Caylee is close by. I suppose we should read anything into that BUT it does sound suspicious to me.

That poor adorable little girl. I don't know if I hope it's her they found or if I hope she's alive living somewhere with someone who loves her and is taking care of her.

May God bless her and be with her where ever she is. Red heart

    She's grounded!!!

I'm talking about my daughter! After she picked the kids up and headed for home she called me on her cell phone to tell me something she forgot. Then she hung up because she said the roads were mostly clear but there still were some icy patches along the way. I told her to make sure she calls me when she gets home. I waited a while, I wanted to give her enough time to get there. Normally it takes about 20 minutes to a half hour to get to their house so I watched the clock. 45 minutes went by and still no call but I figured that's good cause she's taking her time. Then an hour went by, 15 minutes later I couldn't stand it anymore and called her cell phone, no answer. I thought well maybe she's just getting the kids inside and decided to call their home, again no answer. I would hang up and call both phones one right after the other but would just get her voice mail or answering machine. I did this about 10 times in a row. Needless to say I was starting to panic. I thought, ok, I'll try their home one more time and if she doesn't answer I'm waking Bill up and we are going looking for them and call the police so they can get to their house and check there. What a relief it was when she answered. Of course the first thing out of her mouth was "oh mom, I'm sorry. I forgot." When she got home she put the kids to bed then went to go put wood in the wood burner downstairs and didn't hear the phone ringing. Well by then it was past  1:00 a.m. going on 2 and I knew sleeping was out of the question for awhile at least. Sure am glad I taped Top Chef so I had something good to watch until I calmed down lol

I'm almost done with my shopping. Only 3 left to get and they are the hardest 3 to buy for. Darn good thing I still have 2 weeks to figure that out. I got the Santa letters done too, now all I have to do is print them out and get them in the mail. They always take pictures of them when the kids get them so I'm excited to see those. I should start wrapping what I've bought so far so the kids don't find my hiding place. I know when they are wrapped and under the tree it will drive Josh and Devan nuts wondering what I got them lol. They keep saying to me that I spoil them but I think they do that so I won't stop lol. I did take some pictures the other day when we were decorating the tree and will try to get those uploaded today sometime.

I have a funny story to tell ya. We were at Toys'R'Us over the weekend and was waiting to check out. In front of us was a lady checking out and evidently she had a coupon for $10.00 off if she spent $100.00. Well, her total came to $97.00. She was bound and determined to get that money off so she goes and grabs some candy, a pen and a big package of batteries. She says you can always use batteries right. The problem is that store charges and arm and a leg for batteries. After all is said and done she ended up adding another $16.00 dollars to her bill lol. But hey, she did get the $10.00 off lol.

Ok, that's all I can think of to tell you today. Terry, if you want your cd's back you better come to thirsty Thursday tonight if you ever want to see them again Not talking

Hope where ever you are and what ever it is your doing your having fun!

Good Morning! Sis and the kids went home this morning about 8:30. We got a lot more snow yesterday so that's why they stayed over another night. She called when she got home and said the roads still aren't in great shape but getting better. I'm just glad they got home safe and sound.

The kids were so good. Josh and Devan like to aggravate each other once in a while when they get bored and I have to lay the law down on them, but for the most part they were great. Brody is such a good baby! The only time he cries is when he's hungry or wet. He'll lay in his bed or on the blanket on the floor for hours and coo and talk and smile. He's such a happy baby. Devan is so cute with Brody. Sis calls her mini-mom and description fits her to a T . We put Brody in his little play seat that has lights and sounds and she kept saying she was worried and we needed to put a blanket behind him so he doesn't fall back and hurt his head. He wouldn't have but to ease her mind I put a blanket behind him,  then she say's "Oh I feel so much better now" lol. She'll go get him out of bed and sit and play with him for a long time. He's almost getting too big for her now though. It won't be long and she won't be able to pick him up.

I hadn't had time to put the tree up yet so I figured to give the kids something to do we would put it up. They were all for it, well Devan was, she helped me. Josh said yes at first but then decided the computer was more fun. I'm glad that's done and out of the way for awhile. I have a few decorations to put up today but that won't take long.

Remember when I talked about that sweater I wanted to get for my sons gf? Guess what! They have it on sale again today for the same price, $9.99 down from $29.99. So you know where I'm heading in a little while. I would normally be gone by now but I didn't wake up until 9 this morning. I guess having kids around for 2 days kind of tires ya out lol. I might even get me one too Happy

I still have to write the letters to the kids from Santa yet too. I started them the other day and got two done but with them here there's no way I could do it. Josh told me that he knows I write them and wanted to see the website I use lol. He said that last year too so he's catching on. I told him I don't but he gave me one of those "looks". I think Devan has it figured out too but doesn't want to let go yet. She asked me the other day if the presents we get here are from Santa and does he come to our house. I did tell her no that Santa only goes to homes where children live. Bri still believes too and I think that's great. Let them think that as long as we can. It's so much fun on Christmas Eve to watch them get so excited. Maybe we want them to believe more for us then for them?

Ok, I have a lot to do today since I haven't been able to get out so I better snap to it. Wishing you all a great day and I will try to get around to visit soon.

    Hugs, Sherry

    Homebound today

And there's plenty of them to go around today. It's snowing  and it isn't stopping until late this afternoon. Sis and the kids stayed here last night and I was glad of that. At that time of night you can see ice until you're on it and with 3 kids it's scary. They most likely will stay tonight as well. I sure feel a lot better knowing they are here safe and sound and not trying to drive the 20 + miles home. In this kind of weather it's not even safe backing out of your driveway. Our neighbors wanted to go to the store and got stuck in front of their house. So ya, it's home for us today.

I think I have most of my Christmas shopping done. I did want to go out today because the surprise sale is a $30.00 sweater for $10 and I wanted to get my son's girlfriend one. That irritates me that I might miss that sale. Maybe if it slows down this afternoon and the plows get out I can still go. I'll have to wait and see. I'm loving the sales they are having and will miss it when Christmas is over.

Uh oh I just happen to think that I need to get something out of the freezer for supper. If Sis and the kids are going to be here I will have to cook like I used too. I'm thinking goulash and corn bread. What do you think? Does it sound good lol. So I will be around to visit you all in a little while.

Have a good day. If you have to go out stay safe.
